Overview
Exiting is one of seven federal Section 618 data collections that states submit through EDFacts. These data capture information about students ages 14–21 exiting special education, including their demographics and reasons for exiting. States use Exiting data in their SPP/APR to report Indicators 1 and 2, and these data also help states and LEAs identify trends, evaluate program effectiveness, and inform policy decisions.
