Overview
Local data quality—defined by the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and validity of information collected by school districts—is essential for meeting IDEA’s reporting requirements. When local data are strong, school districts can strengthen their data-based decision making. Additionally, states can confidently report on outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and ensure that students with disabilities receive the services and support they need.
