    CEIS and CCEIS Example Scenarios for Tracking Fiscal and Child Data

    OSEP requires SEAs to report data on the LEAs that use IDEA funds for either CEIS or CCEIS through the IDEA Part B Maintenance of Effort (MOE) Reduction, CEIS, and CCEIS data submission. The purpose of this resource is to provide examples of how SEAs and LEAs can accurately track the funds used for CEIS and CCEIS and track the children who receive those services.

    Protecting Student Privacy While Using Online Educational Services

    This document from PTAC addresses privacy and security considerations relating to computer software, mobile applications (apps), and web-based tools provided by a third-party to a school or district that students and/or their parents access via the Internet and use as part of a school activity. The 14-page document is formatted in a question and answer format and includes a resource list and glossary of related terminology.

    Statistical Methods for Protecting Personally Identifiable Information in Aggregate Reporting

    This SLDS Technical Brief examines what protecting student privacy means in a reporting context. Current reporting practices are described and each is accompanied by an example table that is used to consider whether the intended protections are successful. The Brief illustrates that some practices work better than others in protecting against disclosures of personally identifiable information about individual students. The Brief concludes with a set of recommended reporting rules that can be applied in reports of percentages and rates that are used to describe student outcomes to the public.
