    FERPA Exceptions Summary

    A privacy and data protection program for student education records must include a set of checks and balances to ensure that the necessary rules and procedures are in place and that they are being fully implemented. This document provides information about how to complete formal periodic audits of the various processes involved in the processing and usage of personally identifiable student information.

    Data Sharing Agreement Checklist for IDEA Part C and Part B 619 Agencies and Programs

    This 2014 document is an adaptation of the 2012 release of Data Sharing Agreement Checklist intended for K-12 audiences. Presented as a checklist, the document summarizes the requirements for the written agreements under the audit or evaluation exception that is specified in FERPA and that also applies to the IDEA for Part C early intervention and Part B 619 preschool special education.

    State of the States on Systemic Improvement Planning: A National Overview of Phase I SSIPs

    The webinar focused on a national overview of state’s Phase I SSIP based on the SSIP content analysis that TA providers completed in summer of 2015. DaSy, ECTA, IDC, and NCSI co-sponsored the webinar. Several early childhood colleagues shared the results of the SSIP content analysis.

    Performance Indicators As a Tool for Measuring Progress Toward a SiMR

    This presentation provides guidance on the evaluation of SSIP by differentiating between evaluating implementation and impact and reviews possible measures of progress toward achieving the SIMR. Participants discussed and provided input into development of an IDC white paper on the topic. Currently, the white paper is in draft form and undergoing revisions based on input from the field. The published paper will be posted to the IDC Resource Library and affiliated as a related resource to the handout already posted for this session.

    Helping IDC Work for You

    IDC's Communication and Dissemination team presented an interactive overview of strategies IDC uses to engage stakeholders in learning about issues related to high-quality IDEA data. The team discussed IDC's website for public access to information about tools and products and TA resources, access to IDC's learning communities for registered users, communicating through IDC's Part B and Part C listserves, and networking through social media.

    Tracking Infrastructure Improvements and Outcomes

    During this interactive workshop, the IDC Evaluation Team helped participants find new ways to measure infrastructure changes and build on what is already being done in the state with data and evaluation. Participants also learned about new resources for evaluating infrastructure changes. For the 2016 Conference on Improving Data, Improving Outcomes held August 15-17, the content of this workshop was updated as Evaluating Infrastructure Changes: Tracking Improvement Strategies and Identifying Outcomes, along with an updated handout and resource guide.
