The presentation explored challenges that states and local regions face in accurately capturing Part C Exiting reasons. The IDC Part C Exiting workgroup has been developing a tool to assist with these challenges. The presentation was interactive, drawing on the experiences of new and seasoned data managers.

The presentation provides information to help states think about the early steps and process for infrastructure development. The ECTA System Framework is a reference on specific components of the systems identified for improvement. Helpful handouts are included with this posting.

The presentation focuses on experiences of State Part C teams in analyzing data, selecting their SIMR, and completing their SSIP. Guiding questions help states connect Phase I and Phase II planning.

Information focuses on ways to collect and use data on coherent improvement strategies and assess gaps in existing data for evaluation and provides examples of existing data or information states are already collecting (e.g., through monitoring) and how to use that data to measure SSIP activities. A helpful handout is included.

The presentation examines the reasons why states would change baselines or targets for their SSIPs. Topics addressed include changes in assessments, data collection methods, and data quality. Participants discussed and provided input into an  IDC white paper on the topic. Currently, the white paper is in draft form and undergoing revisions based on input from the field. The published paper will be posted to the IDC Resource Library and affiliated as a related resource to the handout already posted for this session.

The presentation offers information about how the DaSy Data System Framework supports stakeholder engagement as a component of high-quality Part C and Section 619 data systems. A helpful handout is included.
