The workshop focused on three IDC SSIP white papers: Implications of Growth Modeling for SSIP; Performance Indicators As a Tool for Measuring Progress Toward a SIMR; and Considerations for Making Changes to SIMR Baseline and Targets. During the workshop, participants were able to talk to and learn from participants from other states and provide input for the development of IDC white papers that address growth modeling, measuring progress toward a SIMR, and changing baseline and targets. The three white papers are currently in draft form and undergoing revisions based on input from the field. Published papers will be posted to the IDC Resource Library and affiliated as companion resources to the handout posted for this session.

The presentation focuses on experiences of State Part C teams in analyzing data, selecting their SIMR, and completing their SSIP. Guiding questions help states connect Phase I and Phase II planning.

Information focuses on ways to collect and use data on coherent improvement strategies and assess gaps in existing data for evaluation and provides examples of existing data or information states are already collecting (e.g., through monitoring) and how to use that data to measure SSIP activities. A helpful handout is included.

The presentation shares information about what OSEP learned from SSIP Phase I and expectations for Phase II and includes a look at the OSEP process for review of Phase I and support for states. Helpful handouts are included.

The presentation focuses on how to use high quality data to support effective implementation. Information highlights informed use of data for decision making and improvement and the conditions under which high-quality data can make the most difference.

Developed by CIFR, this two-page quick reference guide assists states and stakeholders in better understanding the basics of the MFS requirements stipulated in the IDEA. The guide describes the requirements, types of financial support states may make available, reporting obligations, and MFS waivers. It concludes with questions for states to consider and additional resources.

Data governance is a critical function for organizing and exerting proper influence over data management decisions. During the last several years, many LAs and SEAs have defined and adopted data governance programs. This session explored the role of IDEA data managers as data stewards in SEA data governance programs.
