Focused data use is at the heart of IDC’s TA work in Delaware. Following up on last year’s gathering in the fall of 2024, our recent in-person IDC data retreat saw IDC TA providers partnering with the state’s special education director, Part B data manager, and other key staff. The event, designed specifically for LEAs with annual determinations of Needs Intervention and Needs Substantial Intervention for two or more years, focused on analyzing Indicator 3B data (Assessment), conducting root cause analyses, and developing targeted improvement plans.
Our work together has already resulted in across-the-board improvement for participating LEAs in outcomes for students with disabilities, as measured by SPP/APR indicators. To continue the momentum and improvements in the state, IDC and Delaware have another virtual retreat scheduled, this one targeting LEAs in the Needs Assistance determination category for two or more years.
