Purposeful processes are the foundation of high-quality data. This maxim was the driving force behind our latest IDC TA visit to Indiana. Over three days, our team worked directly with staff at the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) to provide hands-on support to enhance and refine the state’s data processes related to SPP/APR Indicators 4, 9, 10, and 11.
The goal of the group was two-fold: build capacity among all members of the state team and ensure alignment with federal reporting requirements and best practices in data quality and use. To meet these goals, IDC worked directly with the IDOE data manager to strengthen their understanding of current data processes. Next, the entire team convened for a collaborative review of data-collection, analysis, and reporting procedures.
Throughout the week, the team engaged in strategic discussions about the state’s data needs, with an eye toward supporting and improving Indiana’s general supervision system and targeted monitoring processes. The result: a stronger set of data processes and a more informed and strategically minded team ready to tackle the 2025–26 school year!
